Just Deserts

Why do those originally from Utah continue to insist that the Vegas desert and Utah "desert" are the same? I get it all the time. People ask where I'm from. I explain that I hail the giant blow-dryer regions of Las Vegas. "So why Utah?" they ask.....I go on about how I ended up here and how I prefer the vegetation and seasons of Utah to the dry desert heat. And then it comes......inevitably....."but Utah's a desert..." Yes, I realize that technically it is, but not exactly the same thing here people. I've had it up to here (please visualize Sarah with her hand marking the general neck/head region with her hand at this point).

So did you think I was really angry? Because that's what I was going for. In all reality, I couldn't care less. Okay so maybe a little less. But regardless, I can't staty angry as hard as I might try (and believe you me, I've tried).

And I recall how I once had the most difficult time differenciating between the spellings of desert and dessert. I think it's just because I like desserts more than the desert.

But I have to excuse the most recent incident desert issue of last night as shortly after, he commented that he liked my pretty blond hair and blue eyes. I blushed and pointed out that my eyes are actually green, but on occasion, bluish green. He said that they were still pretty and then looked for other ways to make me blush including asking for my phone number.

Sheesh, I'm a sucker for flattery.

And the cookies we happened to be eating for dessert.

And I watched the Ringer this weekend which was surprisingly sweet and generally entertaining. With a good moral. Being that you probably shouldnt try to fix the special olypmics for personal gain. Unless of course, you learn a great life lesson from the experience. Of course.

Have said people ever been to Vegas? You should just tell them you moved to Utah because you preferred Cafe Rio to In-n-Out Burger....

what's so hard to understand about 105 degrees NOT the same as 90? (which is what it is here & there today)

If it makes you feel any better, for the first 2/3rds of your post I thought you were talking about dessert and was having much trouble following along.
But I'm not as dumb as that sounds. Hopefully.

A boy actually finally had the guts to ask for a number instead of just flirt and then awkwardly walk off and stare????

Yes, an event that will be going down in history. My personal history anyway.
