Seeing as how I am the most indecisive person on earth, and a lover of colors, I can not for the life of me make a decision already and order the yarn I need for this baby's blanket I need to start on ASAP. So I turn to you (yes you!) to help me. I'm thinking of doing the the plain squares in an off white (as seen in the photo below) and the stripes in the green and maybe dark brown. Here's my dilemma. I like the other colors too. I also feel like the dark brown might be a little out done as of late in the baby decor (me and my irrational need to always be different) but am afraid that if I do the stripes in a, say, green and orangey color (persimmon....I really like that color too) that I will be left wishing I had uses a darker contrast color. Then there is the idea of doing all the squares in a different brown/color stripe for a multi color effect. That way I don't have to choose, but then will I wish that it weren't so busy? Also, his car seat/stroller/high chair (that are being so wonerfully donated by my most wonderful boss lady) are a cute green color. So, do I want to match it? Or do a cute complimentary contrasting color like Persimmon?Mmmmmm....persimmon. Weighty decision, I know. What do you think?

(pattern)

(chocolate dahlia)

(snapdragon)

(magnolia)

(hyacinth)

(persimmon)

(gardenia)

I also love these color names. I have been a sucker for pretty colors and their names ever since I was old enough to read and understand the names of my crayola crayons.

I vote chocolate, snapdragon, magnolia and gardenia.

I don't think that you can overuse a beautiful chocolate brown EVER.

I love the chocolate and snapdragon together. I think blue and brown are over done but I don't think green and brown together are at all! I love those colors together and with the off white I think it will look awesome!!!

you won't regret having a soft, calm, cozy blanket for your baby. i vote persimmon stripes with your cream squares. i know he's a boy but you want soft pretty for ANY new babe.

I see the virtues of understated, and love your chosen color combo. Personally I gravitate toward the brighter colors for a baby, but then again, every baby item you're given will probably be screaming primary colors, so Kai might very well crave a warm, safe calm-color zone :)

I like the hyacinth, persimmon and magnolia for the unpatterned squares. I just really like that simple cream look like the picture with a pop of color. I may be overthinking this...

Ummm, I think if anyone is over thinking this, it is probably me. ;) Thanks for all the great ideas and insight. It has helped.

I like each square to be a different color..why not make it way fun? Of coarse any way you do it will look nice. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
