Let the Sunshine Roll

Currently listening to Beck: Hell Yes on Odelay.

Today was just one of those days. You know the ones. When you wake up and actually know what you are going to wear (which includes heels for some reason) and suddenly realize that not only have you slept in, but there is a mountain of snow outside. So you shower, throw on a mismatched outfit of a dress, leggings, cardigan, and weird boots, pull back your half dried hair and venture outside into the cold dark world. Things look up after your 3rd cup of hot cocoa and your coworker shows up with a 44 oz diet coke with your name on it. And then even more so when she suggests that lunch will not consist of the Thai soup you brought to work or her rice medley, but that she has decided to cash in the sushi I owe her (some people barter with money, I use sushi).

It really made my day, and now just thinking of my Sunshine Roll filled with goodies such as macadamia nuts, lemon slices, and salmon......my mind has gone to better place. One filled with miso and ginger. And bright beams of sunlight spilling over lush green meadows........

Yeah so, we went to that better place, and it was better. Our server was moderately attractive and attentive, so Emily took it upon herself to write my name and phone number on the table before we left. Remind me never to search my purse for a writing utensil next time she requests one. It will be for mal intent.

So this all made for a better day in general. And the restaurant was playing Beck. Sushi, cute servers, and Beck. The ultimate combo.

And maybe he'll call. If he does, that makes the day even better, if he doesn't- it was already good. Right?

So where's your favorite sushi place, ya sushi nut? I love Ichiban and Ginza, but those are the only ones I've tried.

I once wrote my number in the leftover frosting on my dessert plate, hoping that the cute waiter would see it and call me. No go.

Ewwwww, I hate the "leave the phone number on a napkin/place mat/check in hopes that someone will call." My PARENTS did that to me once while I was out with them. Ack.

Still, it's fun, isn't it?

My favorite sushi Marie? I really dunno. I like different places for different reasons I suppose. I do love how Ginza sorta looks like a Japanese porn shop from the outside though.

Does this mean I can pay you for pictures of myself in sushi dollars?

Sorry - I just had to....

I've never had a sunshine roll - must try it next time!
