Feelin Blurry

So sometimes, when I cant sleep late at night, and decide to do my laundry, I emerge from the basement and starting a load of underwear to wash and marvel and the lighting in our kitchen. Which subsequently leads to me suddenly making trips up and down stairs with camera, tripod, flash, etc. To see what I can do with it. And results in many self portraits. Which nobody usually sees because I am likely the most awkward person ever to stand in front of a camera. Despite my former international model of a sister's pointers, and my ability to get others to relax in front of the lens. Sometimes, I get decent one's, but those are indefinitely blurry, or the one where I was trying something new and are too dark.

I have yet to master the self portrait.

But here you go anyway. This is what Sarah does when she can't/doesn't feel like sleeping.

I take lots of self portraits too. I love the lighting in my bathroom the most... yeah well. Anyhoo, it seems like the more I take the better my chances are of capturing one good shot.

I have a pictures folder on my computer entitled "In Search of a Good Shot," which contains all my late-night self-portraits (usually before-and-after shots from my late-night-desperation hair cutting sessions.

If you got four good ones in one session, then we have scientific proof you're better looking than I. But I didn't need science to tell me that. :)

You are sooooo cute!!! Like, oh, my gosh!

I want to hang with you a 2 am...I'm usaully up anyway.

I was trying to do a lightsaber self portrait - the schmexy kind only us fangeeks do with all the lights off and your dark stare in the glow of the saber. Didn't work out to well...back to the drawing board.

Nice! I haven't spent much time at all with "full body" self portraits... that's awesome. I've gotten pretty lazy lately and have just been using the macbook's web cam to do the odd head-shot.

I had to change my profile picture for Britten. The only way I've been successful with the light-saber shot--hehe-- was by using a tripod, and SLR camera and black & white film (and a lot of luck, for sure!). I actually had someone "stand in" with the lightsaber so that I could meter the shot.... hehe.
