337 Project

For the last two weeks, this building chock full of art has been on display for the community's enjoyment. The edifice is being demolished soon to construct some new condos and some brilliant people decided to donate it to local artists before the demolition. The result? An entire building covered in different mediums of art. Seriously, every surface covered. I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon with friends taking it all in. I think the most intriguing was our comparing of pictures that we took afterwards. It's so interesting to see what catches another's eye, the perspective that is expressed by different people photographing the very same thing. I leaned towards documenting others enjoying the experience, which is no surprise. Lovely lovely lovely day. Sad that it is being torn down, but that was the intention of the artwork. One of the artists told us that pieces will be cut out for a display in a local gallery later this year, but only pieces. All in order to preserve the temporary nature of the project.
