Where to start.....

So Sunday I had a meeting with the bishop. And strangely enough I knew EXACTLY what it entailed. I just knew. So that YOU know also, I am the new First Counselor in our Relief Society Presidency. I'm excited for the calling if not a little nervous. Rather overwhelmed. But it will be good. I'm determined. So Sunday made for a draining day as I spent all day at church in meetings with the bishop, relief society, old calling meetings, setting apart, etc. And then a little crying to act as a release mechanism. It worked. But I ended up a bit drained.

So Monday was a new day, new week, it was going to be good. I got up early, left with ample time to make it to work and be oh-so-productive. Made it about 2 miles (if that) and was cruising along in some lazy traffic when all of a sudden I felt like I had been hit by a truck. Because I had. A big one. If you know what a Ford F450 looks like, it's pretty much a great big monster. My little turbo was no match for his brute strength towing a huge trailer that was as tall as the truck itself. I was a little stunned, not quite realizing what happened, when I noticed that the CD player had been ripped out and when I looked in the rear view mirror, a big red hunk of distorted metal was blocking my view. I made my way across three lanes and parked. And just sat there for a while. Not sure what to make of it. The poor kid driving the truck was mortified and apologized over and over again. I told him it was okay, That I was fine (except for the migraine I felt coming on). The cop was nice, did all the paperwork, got mad at me for getting out of the car to give it to him as I should be resting. He suggested that I take the car home, but no further. I made it a few blocks with a low scraping sound when I went over a pothole and a new scraping sound started. I kept driving. A truck behind me started honking and the man inside was pointing at the car. Yes sir, I know. He didn't relent so I pulled over, got out to find my bumper on the ground, dragging behind me. I finally maneuvered it so it was facing the right direction (which was no small feat in my heels and with the cable connecting it to the car had to swing the big hunk o metal around) to set it back on and figured I could make it home if I drove carefully. I made it a couple more blocks when the sound started again. As did the honking. I didn't care, I just wanted to be home. So picture if you will, me driving a very sad little old smashed up car with a large tail dragging behind me. Or you can just look at my pictures.

And to top it all off, my monthly bill came this morning. If you catch my drift.

All that considered, I am grateful to be alive. For people with big insured trucks. For insurance that will pay for the x-rays I am getting today and the muscle relaxants I got yesterday. For the possibility of this helping to pay for a new car. For a job interview I have today. And good friends to go to the temple with afterwards. For Sonic's Route 44 Diet Cokes and tator tots for all the strength and nourishment they provide. For a loving caring family that doesn't make fun of me when I'm distraught, and helps me without treating me like a child. For free rental cars that are very very nice. For nice rental car guy. Yeah, to be alive.

How are you feeling? I thought I was all good after I got rear ended in October and then a day or 2 later the pain started up... yuck. Hope you recover from the whiplash quickly-- glad you're ok!

I'm glad that people are glad that I'm alive.

I am fine, no major damage, to me anyhow. I've just been sore and tired as all get out. Can an accident make you tired? And dealing with insurance companies are a pain.

And to anwser your question nina:

Ummm....MY LIFE. That green beach towel, yes has been there since I went to CA this last summer.
