Better than making out

So I went on a date this weekend, and no offense to the male party but I'm thinking that this picture depicts the best part of the evening. He insisted that we get an apple pie caramel apple from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. As it is his favorite treat. And "better than making out". Thing is, I think he just might be right on that one. :)

I'm never one to turn down a treat, and upon careful consideration of the ingredients of the apple to the far left in this picture, I whole heartily agreed to partake.

I love anything chocolate or otherwise delectable, and yet have had a strange aversion to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory as the giant teddy bear that is always sitting on a bench outside their stores freaks me out. Big time.

Still, I am officially willing to weather that storm from now on.

so, how was the actual date?

The date? Undecided. I thought it was good but was seriously turned off when he said he was going to call the next day and sent me flirty text messages instead.

Maybe I expect too much, but dont say you're going to call if you're in fact, not.

Plus....he's BARELY taller than me, and with my shoes I think we were the same height. He kept mentioning it and seemed to be really bothered by the issue.

One "you're REALLY tall" is sufficent. After the third one, it gets a little bothersome.

But otherwise it was really good!

If those are your only complaints...give it another chance!! Those are not bad at all! Some it could be just first date jitters, the tall thing is really intimidating to some guys. Ryan and I are the same height. I gave up heels for him. Thats true love, right? :)

This is why I don't disclose this stuff here. So I should just ignore that he was SUPER forward and then neglects to call and instead sends me text messages that make me slightly uncomfortable?

I know I know, I tend to be turned off quicker than I should, and if he tries, it's not like I will totally blow him off, but I just don't have high expectations. And am not going to be waiting by the phone.

He did have excellent taste in carmel apples though, so I have to give him that. :)

Can anyone just trust my judgement for a change? Without all the details?

You have great judgment in caramel apples and other delectable treats. I've always said that about you.

That last comment was from me, Lori, your mother, unless it upsets you for some reason--then it's from Rachel. Still no baby but we're timing contractions.

yum.

no, you can never trust datees judgement. It was I, yes, who swore I would never like Douglas. When asked by my mom I think I replied, "It's only Douglas" (in a disgusted tone). and for that reason, I don't trust any datees judgement. Did I say that twice?

See, I had the same opinoin about ryan...I thought he was forward and a flirt and not serious...and look where we are now?

I appreciate you all, but this is all for naught seeing as how he hasnt called as he said he would.

What's a girl to do?

Except drown herself in a sea of delectable carmel apples that are, after all, better than making out.

I trust you Sarah and agree with you on your phone call stipulation. Go for gold! Get the guy who can make out better than a carmel apple!
Sincerely,
An anonymous childhood friend from across the street, on Cypress, 4 houses down on the left, right by the day care.
