It's a Beautiful Day

You know the type. When you are driving to work, and it's not too cold, or hot, and you are wearing an uber comfy yet professional outfit, and the sun is shining and you are grooving to MC Hammer's Hammertime on the radio. It's that kind of day. When you are being so productive and have things to look forward to tonight and tomorrow, and not to mention the day after that. Blissful.

When your office isn't a freezer, but is actually comfortable despite the fact that you are wearing a lightweight skirt and when you get to work, everyone is cheerful and sun rays are bursting through your office window, and somebody bought you an egg mcmuffin and even though you cant eat the muffin part, the rest was satisfying, not to mention the leftover Halloween candy chaser from the breakroom.

That kind of day.

A good hair day.

(Okay, in all reality, my hair is fine today, but I didn't wash it and it's pulled back in a ponytail and so not the best hair ever, but it fit.)

Also......yesterday, I ran some errands with the lovely Courtney. We were parked on the street outside temple square and putting some coins in the meter when we were approached by what looked like a 50+ year old man and his two 20 something sons. I'm guessing. The supposed father was the only to speak.

Man: "Excuse me, do you know if the parking is free after 6 or is that just on weekends?"
Me: "I'm pretty sure it's free...."
Man: "Because it says here Saturday, it's kinda vague...."
Me: "Yeah, I know, but you should be fine, I've done it several times." I smile politely at the men.
Sons: Staring intently not cracking a smile. Would be cute if they weren't so creepy and blank stare-ey.
Courtney: "Yeah, you should be fine" As we start to walk away as we were actually in a hurry.
Man: "Thanks so much, I knew we couldn't go wrong by asking models."

Courtney: "That's a lame line........" as we hurried on our way.

General rules of thumb that I think all men should be aware of:

1. If you are possibly twice the girl's age......even if you are only trying to be complimentary......Don't call her a model. It's creepy more than anything, and frankly, we don't believe you.

2. If a girl smiles at you, model, or cute, or not, it's polite to smile back instead of staring blankly. That's just awkward.

3. On second thought, I don't care much about any of that. The older guy thing.....a little, but harmless. I don't mind being complimented, but generally feel an obligation to be indignant about being treated like a piece of meat. In reality, Im too easy going to waste my energy on that, so I feign disgust, when usually I am just mildly flattered.

There must have been birds singing.

I would have been totally creeped out too. But I'm sure you did look like models.
