Validation

Is it just me? So living downtown, there isn't a whole lot of free parking to be had. Especially in the shopping developments we like to call malls. Which is frustrating to a Vegas girl who has grown accustomed to the free parking garages in the land of casinos and gaming. No matter. I have learned not only to always ask for validation, but to save them up like nobody's business. (Seeing that most of my trips to the Gateway mall consist of returning items, and so does not exceed the hour in which I get to leave the parking garage for free). They get you though. You go to a movie there and they give you the "movie validation" which doesn't cover the whole movie and then they require cash, either that, or you can chill in the garage until 3am ish when you can get out for free. (Been there, done that.....think late movie and then friends dead car battery....roaring good time). So Sarah always has validation on her, and can distribute these nifty cards to others in need (this is how I make friends).

But back to my initial point, is it just me? Or does everyone, when asking for validation half expect someone to reply with "You're very pretty, or smart, or tactful, and have nice teeth"? Because they don't, (usually). They just give me these stinking cards that say something about parking on them. Really, I would be much happier if the cards bore something to the effect of "You have a magnetic personality", or "You're a VIP", or maybe even "You're good enough, you're smart enough, and gosh darnit, people like you".

I would be much more satisfied. Instead I am just left wanting. With free parking.

I think I might have to ask Larry H Miller about that one (the owner of....well, everything). We're old pals. I saw him at the grocery in the soup isle. He spoke to me of soup. Seems very nice.
