At Last...

My-eye love has come alon-hong....(anyone heard the Cyndi Lauper cd At Last? I love it.)

No, at last I have decided to start taking photography seriously. Since I have had requests to shoot a variety of weddings as of late, and this is the only way I am actually going to be able to afford it and keep my sanity.

So in an effort to do all this, I am creating a blog with some of previous wedding work and eventually a website. My current dilemna? A name, what's in a name? A whole lot. Dad says that Sarah Jones Photography is too generic and long. I like my generic name. It's simple, classic. And the Russian clients of Amelia's who are about to have a baby want to name him Jones so as to be American. Poor child.

Anyway, assistance is needed. Here are some previous suggestions from my clever, clever mother:

Fancy pants photography?
Flash!
Click!
Say Cheese photography! (is that too cheesy)
Try-pod photog Ha Ha
Loving memories by Sarah blah blah blah
Reflections
Visions
"Some day my prints will come" tra -la -la la- la

Did I not say she was clever?

"Photesque" but that's too close to "Grotesque"

"Mirror mirror on on the flash, who's the flashiest of us all"

Ha. You guys are great. Kim, you are too great. As is my favorite Hobo. Love the John Maher reference. And "Shutter up Boys".

I'm excited to get started and a little scared. Jess is too funny. She's trying to get me clients and telling everyone that I'm starting my own business. She has quite the entreprenueral (that HAS to be mispelled) mind. I'm a little inadequate, but hey, gotta start somewhere.

Rachel, I haven't spoken to you in a long time. Do you remember me? Remember when you gave me that "Laura Kicks Butt" Soccer Modge-podged journal for my 16th B-Day?

Sarah, I think you have plenty of titles to choose from. Good luck choosing, they're all pretty dang genius.

I say to just name it Sarah Jones Photography because truth is, whatever creative name you come up with, I will probobly make fun of it.

p.s. I am doing the same thing and call it stacia shaw photography. Classic is good.

seriously, I like true stories.

hobo,
um, of course I remember you! You had a different name back then, though. I had forgotten about the soccer journal but thanks for jogging my memory. I think I lived covered in glue for at least 6 months or so, but somehow I have lost (think: thrown out) all of my mod-podge artifacts. Do you still play soccer?

Hobo said...

No I don't play soccer anymore unless it's for FHE or something. I played BYUH intramurals, too. But no more now.
Yes, I remember when you guys were way into modgepodging. I joined the band wagon. I made a pencil holder out of an empty apple saice jar and modgepodged magazine cut outs of mouths all over it. I know, disturbing. Good to connect again with you my friend.

Wait, isn't JUMPED on the band wagon? Whatever... you get my drift. CATCH. CATCH MY DRIFT. I hate idioms. I was never good at them. Never was, never will be.
