This weekend was so nice. Exceptional weather. I woke up early (I know, crazy) on Monday, read a book by Madeline L'Engle, and got ready to go running. My roommate decided to go with me and we stumbled upon this HUGE cemetery just a few blocks from our house. We walked through almost the whole thing, and found the headstones of Orson Pratt, John Taylor, Wilford Woodruff, ad their families, just to name a few. It was the neatest thing to run around finding their families and dates and all. We live in a pretty historic part of the city. We meet in the 20th ward chapel...old building, with gorgeous stained glass and detailing. We had a lesson on reverence in RS on Sunday. It was mentioned that reverence is a respect, even to be reverent when we enter the chapel in respect to those who sacrificed so that it could be built. Not to mention out of respect to the Lord. That is how I feel about the Salt Lake Temple. I get to walk/drive past it everyday, and it never ceases to amaze me. The work and sacrifice that went into it and how it was made possible through the Lord. I haven't been to the temple for almost a month which is ridiculous considering it's proximity to my work. I am going today and am so very anxious to be inside the walls of the Lord's house.
Anyways, good weekend. Painted chairs, finally found a practical spot for the microwave so we (YAH!) have counter space, and started my "training". (I'm going to run a 5K Race for a Cure, in April!)

Wow Sarah, what a woman. How far exactly is 5K (don't laugh--I know the K is probably 1000 but 1000 what? miles, feet, yards, city blocks, steps?)
So cool for you to find the cemetary. I never knew it was there. Are the headstones good and intact? Are they pretty?
Good for you Sarah! I would love to be able to train for the 5K and I also wish I could have found the cemetery with you and your friend. Lorianna, we need to go to SLC and hang out with Sarah. I bet that was just amazing to find all those headstones. Hope you have a wonderful Temple Day Sarah!
The temple got postponed until today, but I am looking forward to it still. The 5K, for all you that havent lived in Canada, is 5 kilometers. I really should know exactly, but it's aproximately 3-3 1/2 miles. About a kilometer and a half per mile. Anyways, always wanted to run one and it is good motivation to start running everyday again. Next year maybe a 10K.
is there a race that is five blocks that I could start training for?
I'm impressed you are doing this sarah....you go girl!
I figured, hey, there was a time that I ran 2-3 miles every morning and evening, so why not now? This is really a longtime goal that stems way back to the Sarah Jones story.
